What To Know:
- I am an Occupational Therapist. I am able to bill several insurances (Regence, Premera, First Choice Plans). Visits will be billed under Occupational Therapy benefits. Treatments sessions are typically 60 or 90 minutes for insurance-based sessions. Call your insurance company to explore what your plan offers. Ask if they will pay for 60 or 90 minutes of treatment. Self-pay is welcome; discounts for same-day-cash-pay are given. Self-pay sessions can be any length of time; even up to 3-4 hours for intensive sessions. Additional self-pay time can be added to your insurance-based sessions.
- Treatments are individualized to your specific needs and I make every effort to meet you where you are, your starting place. I encourage you to be an active participant in your healing to the best of your ability. That might mean that you are receiving more in the beginning. I will review your history, assess your postural alignment, and listen to your concerns before treatment begins. I use gentle pressures following the restrictions in the fascia. You will be encouraged and supported throughout the process. You are always in charge in the session. Every session is individualized to your specific needs and goals. Open communication and feedback is requested and encouraged throughout.
- Treatment is done directly on the skin. Most clients wear some clothing such as bra/underwear, loose shorts/camisole, or a bathing suit. Often we are moving and stretching during the session, so dress to your comfort level. Any desired privacy is honored; sheets, pillows, and blankets are used for comfort.
- Please avoid the use of any lotions or oils before coming to treatment. Treatment is done without sliding on the skin. This allows me to connect with the fascia and sustain appropriate pressures.
- No fragrances or perfumes. Thank you in advance; I am chemically sensitive and many clients are also sensitive to fragrances and other chemicals. This includes hair products, make-up, deodorant, laundry soaps with fragrances; especially laundry pods and fabric softener. I may not be able to provide treatment in some cases as I may have a strong reaction. Many fragrances are harmful to our health, but are not regulated. Please be aware. I only use Ecos laundry detergent for linens.
- Training will be provided for you to continue progress utilizing a self-care program designed for your specific needs. I am dedicated to helping you to learn to be able to take care of yourself as much as possible. I share a multitude of resources for you to explore as you begin your healing journey. You are encouraged to get to know yourself in many new ways.
- Please inquire for further information, questions, and to schedule appointments. You will be provided with additional information for your first session via email. Be ready to fill out a history questionnaire and provide copies of insurance and your driver's license. Due to high demand, it is best to make several appointments for follow-up after your initial appointment to ensure availability for continuity of care. You may cancel the appointments after your initial appointment as desired.
